At FBU, mission is at the heart of who we are. God sent Jesus for our rescue. Jesus sends us into the world to make His name known. Every member of FBU is called to be on mission. We support mission work across the globe in our partnership with Southern Baptist churches through the Cooperative Program. For every dollar of undesignated gifts that are given at FBU, just over twenty percent supports missions both locally and globally. For more info about the CP, watch this video.
Local missions
We strive to share Christ's love in our town and region through intentional gospel relationships, benevolence, mission projects, and church planting.
We partner in missions with the Del Rio Uvalde Baptist Association for mission work in our area. In addition, we support Alto Frio Baptist Camp.
State Missions
We partner with the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention to conduct mission work in Texas such as church planting and Disaster Relief.
In September, we give a special offering to support state mission called Reach Texas.
North American Missions
We partner with NAMB to carry out mission work across the US and Canada. Find out more about how you can be involved in mission work through NAMB.
At Easter, we give toward the Annie Armstrong Offering which supports mission work across the United States and Canada.
Global Missions
We partner with the International Mission Board (IMB) to support church planting and ministry efforts across the globe. The IMB sends over 4,000 missionaries all over the world, particularly among unreached people groups.
We give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to support global missions.
Pray for unreached peoples
Jesus has called us to make His name known to every tribe and people group. Join us in praying for unreached peoples as information about different unreached people groups is provided daily.
